Introducing the Uzbekistan National Pavilion
Introducing the Uzbekistan National Pavilion

Brought to life by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF) with an award-winning design by ATELIER BRÜCKNER, the Pavilion mirrors the cycle of life – a spatial expression of the harmony between humans and nature.

For centuries, Uzbekistan’s gardens have been essential spaces of retreat – creative hubs for cultural exchange, intellectual reflection, human connection and social gathering, filled with paradise-like beauty. Crafted in a fusion of brick, clay and sugi cedar wood from the mountains surrounding Osaka, the Pavilion is a contemporary reimagining of Uzbekistan’s gardens and architectural heritage. Spanning two levels, it sits on a triangular plot, echoing the form of an ancient Central Asian amulet known as a tumar. The journey carefully unfolds the layers of Uzbekistan’s DNA, from ancient traditions to modern innovations, exploring craftsmanship, technology, materials, sustainability, science, architecture, history and creativity.

From the depths of soil, seeds and roots through to the heights of blossoming forests, flowers and fruits under the skies, embark on a life-affirming journey into the heart of Uzbekistan – culminating in the beauty and wisdom of our Garden of Knowledge.
