The new State Museum of Arts in Tashkent, designed by Tadao Ando and Atelier Brückner, is a bold symbol of Uzbekistan’s cultural renewal. Showcased at Expo 2025 Osaka, it features world-class exhibitions, modern facilities, and over 100,000 artworks — uniting heritage, innovation, and global dialogue.

 At the core of Uzbekistan's bold development strategy stands New Tashkent City — a groundbreaking urban initiative set to reshape the nation's capital and establish it as a hub of sustainable growth and innovation in Central Asia. The Uzbekistan pavilion provides a glimpse into this remarkable vision. 

Inspired by Uzbekistan’s ancient garden traditions and the learning hub of Khiva, the pavilion by ATELIER BRÜCKNER blends nature, craft, and culture. Reflecting shared values with Japan — hospitality, craftsmanship, and reverence for nature — it offers a serene space of connection, reflection, and timeless beauty. 

The pavilion sits on a triangle-shaped plot, like a traditional Uzbek amulet for protection. Its walls are covered with over 11,000 turquoise tiles made by master ceramicist Abdulvahid Karimov.

Inside, visitors can explore handmade ceramics, embroidery, and textiles by top Uzbek artisans. A small “forest” of Japanese cedar trees and deep blue ceramic stools by designer Nada Debs create a peaceful space at the top of the pavilion.
